Signposting lists
Every charity and advice service builds up valuable knowledge of the organisations that can help its clients. But that knowledge often ends up scattered across spreadsheets, Word documents, shared drives and individual staff members' experience.
Many organisations build lists: but over time, they become difficult to maintain, and in practice, are difficult to use across teams as for larger organisations.
Building your lists
Within Step, digital lists can be built in minutes - by choosing service options from our national mapping of over 80,000 support options.
If a service isn't in the national mapping, you can add it yourself by taking a photo of a flier, or pasting in your own information.
Access and share
Available across your teams and organisation
Your staff and volunteers across your organisation can then access lists from any mobile, PC or use a printed version. Browse services in a list or switch to a map to see what's available nearby.
Share support with clients
When you find a service that might help, share it with a client in a personalised support plan, via email, SMS or print. They can take away the details and a clear idea of what to do next, translated into their own language where needed.
We help your lists stay accurate
Updates from the Step Network
When you add services from Step's national mapping, their information is updated as we detect changes in public information or hear directly from providers. That helps your lists stay useful without your team having to recheck every entry from scratch.
Reminders for your own services
If you've added services which publish information online - we'll help keep those up to date too where we find a change. If that's not possible, they'll go into your own dashboard, showing the last date checked - giving you clear tasks to ensure your lists stay accurate.
